During Terms 1 and 2, Year 6 and Kindergarten are united as buddies. They work closely together in activities designed to develop confidence in Kindergarten children, to assist in their transition to school and develop their leadership skills in our senior students.
Peer support during Terms 2, 3 and 4 builds upon foundations laid during buddy activities. It provides students from K-6 with regular opportunities to practise and reinforce the Burraneer Bay Public School values, focusing on fairness, friendliness and playing well together. Year 6 students are all trained in leadership skills and take responsibility for leading a group of approximately 18 children K-5. Throughout the leaders guided the groups through activities focusing on ‘bounce back' strategies and developing positive, respectful relationship with others.
