Wellbeing
At our school, student wellbeing is fundamental to successful learning. We want every student to feel valued, safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.
How we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
-
teachers who help students feel welcome and included
-
access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
-
programs that support health, mindfulness, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
-
teaching values that support resilience and healthy ways to handle challenges
-
assistance for new students and those transitioning to school or across stage levels
-
clear expectations for behaviour
-
building respectful relationships
-
developing health care plans for students
-
effective peer support programs
-
peer mediation to improve social skills
-
Year 6/Kindergarten buddies program to assist kindergarten children in their transition to school
-
restorative practices to build positive relationships, resolve conflicts respectfully, and encourage students to reflect on their actions and make positive choices
